Pull It Up Radio | International Latin Reggae — October 2025

Colombian reggae continues to leave its mark on the world map 🌍🔥. This time, the one who raises the name of the country is none other than Javier Alerta, pioneer and reference of the Latin American reggae scene, who returns with a release full of love, history and roots: “Brixton in Love”, his new album recorded in the heart of London, cradle of lovers rock.

Recorded at the legendary Map Studios in Brixton, this album is a musical journey that crosses borders, a bridge between the vibrations of Jamaica, the soul of London and the heart of Colombia. Javier Alerta once again demonstrates why his name is synonymous with quality, awareness and feeling.

The album pays tribute to lovers rock, that subgenre born in the 70's in the United Kingdom, where the Afro-Caribbean community found a sweet and deep way to express love through reggae. With his characteristic spiritual touch and honest lyrics, Javier reinterprets this legacy from his Latin American and contemporary vision.

“Brixton in Love” celebrates love in all its forms—the love that heals, that teaches, and that connects—with a sonic warmth that can only come from the soul. 🎧 PRE-SAVE NOW

Behind this gem is a living legend of British reggae: Dennis Bovell, producer, musician and architect of the lovers rock sound, known for his work with artists such as Linton Kwesi Johnson, Janet Kay and Steel Pulse. Bovell not only produced the album, but also took care of the mixing, achieving that warm, organic and full of life sound that characterizes the great works of the genre.

The recording was carried out by Duncan Thornley, while the mastering was carried out by Manuel Scaramuzzino, achieving an immersive and clean sound experience, without losing the raw essence of the live recordings.

Special Edition: The album will also be released on double 10-inch vinyl (33 rpm) with:

Beyond the names and credits, what really shines in Brixton in Love is the energy of the process. The band recorded live, like in the golden days of roots reggae, capturing the pure vibe of each session. That type of recording that is not repeated twice, where each note vibrates from the soul, where each breath feels part of the groove.

💬 “We wanted to rescue that classic way of recording, where music flows naturally and what remains on tape is real, honest, without filters,” says Javier Alerta.

The result: an album that sounds fresh but classic, modern but spiritual, a true gem of Latin reggae.

👉 “Brixton in Love” will be available on all digital platforms starting October 10, 2025. And for analog sound lovers, there will be a collector's double vinyl edition.
