Greetings, reggae family, although with heavy hearts. Today we remember and honor the soul who ascended to Zion: Peter Anthony Morgan, affectionately known as "Peetah," the vocal leader of the iconic band Morgan Heritage.

With heavy hearts, we announce that Peetah Morgan has left for Zion after suffering a massive stroke. 🦁💔 The Morgan family, from Jamaica to Zimbabwe, mourns the loss of this reggae warrior, a lion who roared with the force of music and spirituality. 🇯🇲🙏

Peter Anthony Morgan was born on July 11, 1977 in Brooklyn, New York, into a family deeply rooted in reggae music. Son of renowned singer Denroy Morgan, Peetah carried the roots of reggae with him from his cradle to the global stage. His distinctive voice led Morgan Heritage in anthems that resonated around the world, fusing the roots of reggae with his soul heart.

With Morgan Heritage, Peetah was not only the vocal leader, but also a musical architect who defined the essence of contemporary reggae. From her debut album in 1994 to the 2016 Grammy win for "Strictly Roots," her impact is indelible. His departure leaves a deep hole in the heart of reggae and Jamaica, but his legacy will live on through his countless contributions to music.

In addition to his accomplishments with Morgan Heritage, Peetah excelled as an ambassador for reggae, fusing cultures and connecting hearts through music. His ability to weave stories of suffering and love, characteristics of reggae, resonated in every corner of the world. 🌍

In the Morgan Heritage statement: "Jah came and saved us from ourselves because love is the only way." 🌟 We thank you in advance for your overwhelming love and support, and ask for your continued prayers as we navigate this process. We respect your privacy during this time of healing. Thank you.

Rest in peace Peetah Morgan, your music and your spirit will live on forever.
