Who is Mad Professor?

Neil Fraser, known as Mad Professor, was born in Georgetown, Guyana, and grew up in London, where in 1979 he set up the studio that gave rise to the Ariwa label. Since then, he has been pushing the limits of Jamaican sound from the console for more than four decades. Their catalog includes No Protection (1995), a dub reinterpretation of Massive Attack's album Protection, and collaborations with names such as Lee “Scratch” Perry, Sly & Robbie, Horace Andy and Jah Shaka.

Who is Queen Omega?

Jeneile Osborne, the woman behind Queen Omega, was born in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago. She began writing calypsos and singing with soca bands before turning to roots reggae, a path that took her to London in the early 2000s. Her debut album, Queen Omega, came out in 2001, followed by titles such as Pure Love, Away From Babylon (2004) and Freedom Legacy (2023).

Her voice also circulated outside of records: the event page highlights her “No Love Dubplate” with Little Lion Sound, and her career includes tours in Brazil and France in 2009 and with Marcia Griffiths in 2010. Conscious message, stage presence: that's what is expected of her.

Mexico City: Queen Omega + Antidoping in Foro Veintiocho

On Thursday, October 29, Queen Omega arrives atForum Twenty-eight(Av. Ribera de San Cosme 28) together with Antidoping, one of the most representative reggae bands in Mexico. It is a night designed to bring together two references of Latin American and Caribbean reggae on the same stage. It is presented by Underground México and Arterial, space is limited and Joshua Gomez Montoya, TPX (Erick Tepexicuapan) and Polyester Kat will be at the controls.
